Greyhound Auto Retail supplies welding equipment and consumables for automotive repair, fabrication and general workshop use, including electrodes and wire, safety gear, clamps and accessories.

Process choice comes down to the work. Stick or arc welding is tolerant of rust, wind and outdoor conditions and suits heavier structural repair. MIG is faster and cleaner on thin sheet, which is what most automotive panel work needs, but it wants a sheltered spot because a breeze blows the shielding gas away.

Preparation is where most weld quality is won or lost. Clean back to bright metal, remove paint, oil and galvanised coating from the weld area, and earth the workpiece close to the joint. Never weld near fuel lines or a battery, and always use a properly rated helmet and gloves, since arc eye and UV burns happen faster than people expect.
