Getting the driver right matters more than most people think. Phillips and Pozidriv look similar but are different profiles, and using one in the other is the fastest way to cam out and chew up a screw head. Torx and hex fasteners are now common on modern vehicles and need the exact size rather than the nearest fit. For electrical work, use properly insulated VDE-rated drivers rather than ordinary ones with plastic handles.
Look for hardened, precision-ground tips that sit fully in the recess, a handle that gives real grip with oily hands, and a shaft length suited to the access you have. Impact-rated drivers are worth having for seized or thread-locked screws.
