Solvent products cut carbon, tar and adhesive that water-based cleaners are too slow on. Acid-based cleaners are for scale, rust and cement residue and need care around soft metals and paint.

Whatever you use, check the dilution rate, test on a small area first on anything painted or plated, and rinse properly.
