Gates 7PK1473 fan belt: 7-rib multi-rib belt, 1473 mm (premium)
The Gates 7PK1473 is a 7-rib multi-rib drive belt (also called a fan belt, V-ribbed or serpentine belt), 1473 mm long. It drives the engine auxiliaries. For example, it turns the alternator, the power steering pump and the air conditioning compressor, depending on the engine. Listed fitment includes the Toyota Quantum, Hiace Ses’fikile & BMW Z4.

How to check your belt size
First, look at the back of your old belt: you will find the size printed there. For example, in 7PK1473, 7 is the number of ribs, PK is the rib profile and 1473 is the length in millimetres. However, sizes a few millimetres apart (such as 7PK1473 and 7PK1478) are different belts. So match the number exactly, or ask us.

Fitting tips
Replace the belt at the interval in your service book. Also replace it sooner if it is cracked, glazed, missing ribs or squeals on start-up. At the same time, check the tensioner and idler pulleys, because a worn tensioner bearing wears out a new belt quickly. Before you remove the old belt, photograph the routing. Finally, make sure every rib sits in its pulley groove before you start the engine.
