Neptune RFH6 6mm fuel hose, cut to the length you need
The Neptune RFH6 6mm fuel hose is a reinforced rubber fuel pipe for petrol and diesel. We sell it in cut lengths from 0.25 m to 10 m, so you only buy what the job needs. Choose the length in the drop-down and it comes as one piece, ready to fit. However, for bigger jobs the full 30 m roll costs less per metre.
Where to use 6 mm fuel hose
Motorcycles and quad bikes, generators and small marine engines all use 6 mm fuel hose, and it also suits fuel return lines on cars and bakkies. It is a common size for carburettor feeds on bikes and for low-pressure fuel lines on small diesels. Because it has a 20 bar working pressure, it also handles normal fuel pump pressures with plenty in reserve.
Specifications
- Part number: Neptune RFH6
- Inside diameter: 6.0 to 6.3 mm
- Inner liner wall: 1.6 to 1.8 mm
- Construction: reinforced rubber fuel hose
- Fuels: petrol and diesel
- Standard working pressure: 20 bar
- Maximum temperature: 70 °C
- Supplied: cut lengths of 0.25 m to 10 m, or a full 30 m roll
Choosing a length
We cut each length you order as one piece, so 2 x 1 m gives you two 1 m pieces. If you need 3 m in one run, choose 3 m instead. Also allow a little extra for trimming the ends square. For long runs, or when you fit this size often, the 30 m roll works out cheaper per metre than cut lengths.
Fitting tips
- First push the hose fully over the barb, then fit the clamp just behind the barb’s bead and tighten until firm.
- Keep the fuel pipe away from exhaust manifolds, turbos and other hot parts, because the hose has a 70 °C temperature limit.
- Route it clear of sharp edges and moving parts, and replace any hose that has cracked, hardened or swollen.
- This is fuel hose only: use heater hose for coolant, and the correct hose for brake fluid or power steering.
Other Neptune fuel hose sizes
Neptune fuel hose also comes in 3.2 mm, 5 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm inside diameter. See them all, together with the full rolls, under Fuel Hose.
