G254 12V 5W Festoon Bulb | Interior and Number Plate Lighting

The G254 12V 5W Festoon Bulb is a standard halogen-free incandescent festoon lamp used across a wide range of vehicles for interior dome lights, map lights, glovebox and boot lights and number plate lights. It uses the common SV8.5 double-ended festoon base, so it fits straight into the existing holder with no wiring changes. In South Africa, Lumin sells it as the G254M.

Choosing the right G254 festoon bulb

Festoon bulbs look alike but come in several lengths and wattages, so it pays to check the old bulb before ordering. This one is the 12V 5W size, which is the most common fit for courtesy and number plate lights. As a rule, most bulbs show the wattage on the glass or on one of the metal end caps, so take a quick look before you throw the old one away. However, if the holder is longer or the old bulb shows 10W, the G250A is usually the correct match instead.
