Greyhound™ Circulating Oil is a rust and oxidation inhibited mineral oil range. It lubricates the bearings and circulating systems of mills, plants and mines. The range covers eight grades, ISO VG 32 to 460. Every grade also carries an ashless sulphur-phosphorus system with extreme pressure capability. Therefore one product covers both plain circulating duty (CL) and circulating systems that also lubricate loaded gearing (CLP). Greyhound developed the range for conveyor and crusher bearings in copper crushing mills. There, water, dirt and scale get into the oil every day. As a result, every grade resists rust and corrosion. It also releases air quickly and separates water instead of forming an emulsion. In short, it keeps ring-oiled, bath and pressure-fed systems clean in wet and dusty conditions.
Which circulating oil grade do you need?

ISO VG 32 to 68 (light): turbine-type and R&O systems, high-speed spindles and combined hydraulic duty. VG 46 and 68 are the workhorses here.
ISO VG 100 to 220 (medium): plain and rolling bearings on heavier equipment, plus general plant circulating systems. VG 220 is the most common paper machine grade. Similarly, VG 150 to 320 suit dryer rolls, film calenders and corrugators.
ISO VG 320 to 460 (heavy): rolling mill backup and work-roll bearings, heavy gearbox circulation, and cement and mining plant circulation. Morgoil-type systems usually run 320 or 460.
ISO VG 680 and above: slow, heavily loaded mill bearings. Available on request, and usually positioned as a gear oil instead.
