Greyhound™ Hydraulic FR-46 HFC | Fire-Resistant Hydraulic Fluid for Extreme Conditions

Greyhound™ Hydraulic FR-46 HFC is a high-performance fire-resistant hydraulic fluid designed for use in fire-hazardous environments, such as steel mills, forging shops, heat treatment facilities, die casting shops, and underground coal mines. This HFC-type hydraulic fluid is formulated with an aqueous polymer solution containing more than 41% water, ensuring superior flame resistance while maintaining excellent lubrication and anti-wear properties.

The fluid’s glycol-based formulation offers enhanced thermal stability, corrosion protection, and low foaming characteristics, making it ideal for high-temperature applications where fire safety and operational reliability are critical. Designed to minimize fire risk in hydraulic systems, Greyhound™ Hydraulic FR-46 HFC meets the stringent requirements of VDMA 24317 and ISO 12922 HFC, ensuring compliance with global safety standards.

Gradings of Fire-Resistant Hydraulic Fluids (HFA, HFB, HFC, HFD)

• HFA (Water-Based, ISO 12922 HFAE / HFAS) – >80% water content, mainly used in mining & steel mills for fire safety.
• HFB (Water-Oil Emulsion, ISO 12922 HFB) – Oil-in-water emulsions (~40% oil), offering better lubrication & fire resistance.
• HFC (Water-Glycol, ISO 12922 HFC) – Water-based polymer solutions (>41%) for fire-hazardous areas (steelworks, foundries, underground mining).
• HFD (Synthetic, ISO 12922 HFD-R, HFD-U, HFD-T) – Fully synthetic, fire-resistant fluids for aircraft, offshore, & high-temperature applications.
